Useful Tips
Picking the horse racing tipping service that is right
for you may take a while but in the meantime here are some suggestions to help
you along.
Ask a question.
Sounds daft I know, but you really should find out if
someone is there to answer your questions and give you help and advice when you
need it.
I know from experience that Lee (Ex-Jockey),
Tim Burke (Above all
Odds) and David Turner (Turners Tips) will answer your
questions the moment they get chance.
Past Results
You know the saying "Past performance is not
necessarily indicative of future results."
It's seems to be a big thing with people to see how
well a service has performed, and I admit that it is good to look at figures
that show lots of wins with very few losses, but figures can be manipulated!
I am always more interested in what happens after I
have joined a service and how much I can make from then on.
Most sites give you some teaser but "Turners Tips", "Stop
at a Winner" and "My daily
Nap" are more open than most, showing just about all their past results on
their sales pages.
Cost.
This is one many people do not seem to think about
much, which does amaze me.
Whatever happens you want to cover your membership
cost so you need to get an idea of how much you are likely to make from the
stake you can afford.
If say it cost you £20 a month to be a member
and you are likely to win 18pts, if you can only afford to bet £1 per
point your not going to make any money at all.
My daily
nap is the only service that I know off that does not charge it members
after a bad month!
Each service has their own ideas on what to bet,
Above all Odds is trying to
make you £12000 a month but to get that you are going to have to bet
£50 a point and as their biggest bets are 2pts you will need to often bet
£100.
Can you afford to loose that?
And maybe more if there is a small loosing streak!
If you can only afford £1 per point then your
yearly income will only be £240.
Please, Please make sure you have a bank to play with
and that this is spare cash and not the mortgage payments or something silly
like that.
If you pick the right service then you will soon be
playing with the bookies money, until then you are going to be using your own
hard earned cash!
Time
Have you got the time?
Most services send you tips anywhere between 8 and
10.30 in the morning (some later), so make sure you are going to be able to get
your tips before you go off to work.
If you are not allowed to receive personal emails at
work but still have net access then many services have member's areas where you
can pick up the tips.
Services like "Stop at a Winner" are even
more demanding on time, especially if you want to watch the races as they
happen.
Keep with it.
This is the number one reason why you will loose money
at horse racing, because you bet half-heartedly.
What do I mean?
The moment you decide to follow a tipster and put your
money down then you have to be committed.
I see people all the time who loose two races in a row
then quit, then go off somewhere else and loose again.
They don't stick around to reap the rewards!
Any tipster and I mean any, will have odd bad runs and
you may just happen to join when it starts, but if you have done your homework
and can see that overall they make money, then you will have to stick with them
until they do.
If you haven't got a bank to sustain a loss of at
least 10 in a row and the nerve to loose that amount then to be quite honest
you shouldn't bet on horses.
